On Friday, March 28, former Berwick High School standout Mitchell Sanford’s current college team, the Ole Miss Rebels, lost 11-8 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the Florida Gators.
The game took place at Swayze Field. This was their third matchup against the Gators this season.
The Rebels’ next game is scheduled for Tuesday, April 1 at 4 p.m. at Swayze Field against Jackson State Tigers.
The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office has announced two major arrests involving allegations of murder and child exploitation offenses. Authorities say both investigations required collaboration with other agencies as well as follow-up after new evidence emerged.
Drivers in St. Mary Parish reported a weekly low of $2.87 per gallon for midgrade gas in the week ending Jan. 31.
