On Tuesday, March 18, former Berwick High School standout Mitchell Sanford’s current college team, the Ole Miss Rebels, lost 6-2 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles.
The game took place at Trustmark Park. This was their second matchup against the Golden Eagles this season.
The Rebels’ next game is scheduled for Friday, March 21 at 6 p.m. at Taylor Stadium at Simmons Field against Missouri Tigers.
The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office has announced two major arrests involving allegations of murder and child exploitation offenses. Authorities say both investigations required collaboration with other agencies as well as follow-up after new evidence emerged.
Drivers in St. Mary Parish reported a weekly low of $2.87 per gallon for midgrade gas in the week ending Jan. 31.
