On Saturday, March 29, former North Vermilion High School standout Darian Duhon’s current college team, the Washburn Ichabods, won 11-2 in their NCAA Division II baseball game against the Arkansas–Fort Smith Lions.
The game took place at Crowder Field. This was their second matchup against the Lions this season.
The Ichabods’ next game is scheduled for Sunday, March 30 at 1 p.m. at Crowder Field against Arkansas–Fort Smith Lions.
The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office has announced two major arrests involving allegations of murder and child exploitation offenses. Authorities say both investigations required collaboration with other agencies as well as follow-up after new evidence emerged.
Drivers in St. Mary Parish reported a weekly low of $2.87 per gallon for midgrade gas in the week ending Jan. 31.
