The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office announced on April 14 that deputies responded to 131 complaints in the past day and made several arrests.

The report states that Henry Manuel Rabelo, age 42 of Patterson, was arrested at 8:10 a.m. on two counts related to child sexual abuse material. Detectives executed a search warrant which led to Rabelo’s apprehension and transport to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has not been set, and the investigation is ongoing.

Sheriff Gary Driskell said the office remains part of the Louisiana Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Taskforce, which investigates high-tech crimes against children. The office urges parents and guardians to be vigilant about their children’s online activities and directs them to www.stmaryso.com or MissingKids.org for internet safety resources or reporting suspicious activity.

Other arrests include Destiny Nicole Crane, age 34 of Bayou Vista, who was taken into custody at 12:09 p.m. on a Berwick Police Department warrant for cyberbullying before being transported to another agency; Judy Elizabeth Moore Alexander, age 62 of Centerville, who was arrested at 4:16 p.m. for domestic abuse-child endangerment law and resisting arrest or officer with bail set at $7,500; and Kevian Mark Lee, age 52 of Patterson, who was arrested at 6:56 p.m. on an Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office warrant for failure to appear on a theft charge and is being held for another agency.

Lt. David Spencer serves as Public Information Officer for the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office.
